Professional Development

An integral component of the Sydney Buses Graduate Program is the professional development that you, as a graduate, will receive.

We are committed to providing a wide range of development opportunities to provide each individual with the skills and knowledge to make a difference. At Sydney Buses your professional development starts on day one, where the Graduate Coordinator will help you to produce a Personal Development Plan.

Throughout the two-year program you will have the opportunity to attend Graduate Development Workshops such as writing business proposals and reports, change management, business etiquette and professionalism, presentation skills, influencing, negotiation and career development.

Within the second year of your program, you will be able to utilise our Study Assistance Program, providing you with the option of further increasing your skills and knowledge.

Training in technical skills will also be provided to support you throughout your program.

Mentoring

When you join Sydney Buses you will have the option of being assigned a mentor – someone with experience to share ideas with, advise you in career matters and give you a valuable perspective. Your mentor will be there for you to help build your career and networks within the organisation.

Feedback

For the duration of the Graduate Program, each Graduate will be aligned closely to a Performance Management Program. This will provide the basis for ongoing feedback on your performance as well as being able to highlight your strengths and identify areas that require further development. Sydney Buses is committed to developing you by providing feedback on your leadership potential, change management skills, communication skills, teamwork, motivation and initiative, planning and organising, and problem solving.

Salary Package

Graduate Salaries start at $50,455 for the first year (2009) and move to $55,009 in the second year (2010).
