Applying for a Graduate Position
Applications for our 2009 Sydney Buses Graduate Program closed on Sunday 18 May 2008.
Step 1: Application Instructions and Form
The first step in the selection process is for you to submit an electronic application as per the Graduate Program Application Instructions and Form.
Applicants who address and meet the initial application requirements will progress to the second step, i.e. the completion of supervised online ability testing.
Besides filling in the form, you must meet the following essential eligibility criteria to ensure you proceed to the next step.
- Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident; and
- Have completed a recent and relevant university degree or expect to complete it by the end of 2008.
Note: If you have completed a university degree overseas, you must have your overseas qualifications recognised as equivalent to an Australian qualification. A university degree from overseas alone will not make you eligible to apply for the Sydney Buses Graduate Program. To assist you in doing this, refer to the following website:
http://aei.dest.gov.au/AEI/QualificationsRecognition/Assessing/Work.htm.
Information on the other progressive steps in the selection process are summarised below.
Step 2: Supervised Online Ability Testing
If you follow the instructions and meet the criteria in your initial Graduate Application, you are eligible and will be invited to complete the supervised Online Ability Tests in regard to verbal, numerical and problem solving skills.
Your Ability Test results will be reviewed by the selection panel to determine whether you will be invited to the next step.
Step 3: Occupational Personality Questionnaire & Interview
At this step candidates will be required to:
- complete an Occupational Personality Questionnaire on a computer convenient to you; and
- attend an interview to discuss the questionnaire results and determine your suitability for the role.
Permission will then be sought for the selection panel to contact your nominated referee(s).
Step 4: Offer of Employment
If you are chosen for our Graduate Program, we will let you know the good news and send you a written offer of employment.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via post. Feedback on your results/performance will be available upon request.
